INTRODUCTION TO ORACLE INTERNET DIRECTORY FOR DEVELOPERS

This course can be combined with course Oracle 9i New Features for Developers and last for 5 days

DESCRIPTION

During this course, students will learn about Oracle Internet Directory features that are relevant to application developers. The lessons will provide detailed information about Oracle Internet Directory Architecture, Concepts and APIs. This course primary contains information about PL/SQL APIs and LDAP command line tools. This course gives an overview of Oracle Internet Directory Integration Platform as well. Administrative features related to performance, security and globalization are studied from a developer perspective.

Note: This course can be customized to answer specific customer needs.

Application developers, database developers, technical team leaders.

PREREQUISITES

Students should possess the following prior to attending:

  • General knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL .

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CLASS SETUP

  • PC-equipped classroom. Projector to display instructor's PC.
  • Oracle 9i ORDBMS Release 9.2 .
  • Oracle Internet Directory (OID) Infrastructure Release 9.2
  • Oracle Internet Directory Software Developer?s Kit Release 9.2 .
  • User Accounts with privileges (CRUD) to access:
    • Oracle Internet Directory Schema and Repository. Ideally each user will have an access to his own OID instance;
    • PL/SQL packages called DBMS_LDAP and DBMS_LDAP_UTIL.
  • Oracle Internet Directory Repository with sample entries of users and their attributes of your organization.
  • Client tools: Sql*Plus, Oracle Directory Manager.
  • Services: Delegated Administrative Service, Oracle Internet Directory Self-Service Console, Oracle Enterprise Manager Website.

    Note: Client will need a technical person to install Oracle Internet Directory schema on a non-production database server, client product on students'/instructor's PCs, client class files. Also to check install and call instructor to verify all set five days before class.

    For successful duration of the class, it is strongly recommended that Instructor arrives 2 business days before the beginning of the class to supervise the installation and testing of the class environment.

LOCATION AND MAXIMUM ATTENDANCE

All classes are scheduled and held at client site training rooms. No minimum attendance requirement. Maximum number of students: 16.
